Hi!
Thank you so much for subscribing to my blog!!
If you’ve been following along, you’ll know that I’ve been working on adding in one new piece of the “online puzzle” at a time here. I’ve finally got a newsletter set up through mailchimp, and I’m pretty excited to start sending out newsletters instead of the RSS feeds that you’ve all been receiving.
An RSS feeds means you automatically get updated whenever I put out a new blog post. I don’t want to flood your inbox, however, (lol – dreaming of the day when I’ll be able to publish more than 1 – 2 posts a week ;)) so I’m planning to send out a newsletter 2 – 4 times a month instead, with links to the blog posts I’ve written recently.
For you:
This will make it easier for you – you’ll get a brief summary of the posts I’ve published and you can read more if they look interesting or relevant to you.
I will also send you the freebies that I’m offering to new subscribers — you’ll get a free chapter from my ebook on teaching math with ten frames, as well as the password to access all the free printables that I offer in my posts.
For me:
This also works out better for me because if you click on the links to read the article, it counts on my pageviews :). I don’t get any pageview counts if the whole RSS feed just goes straight to your inbox <sad face>. It helps my website gain legitimacy in Google’s eyes when my pageviews increase – it also makes my day a lot better because I check my stats often ;). It doesn’t really count for much else yet since I’m not using ads. (Since I’m laying it all out here – just wanted to say that I might install some kind of ad system if I ever reach more than a couple thousand pageviews a month … ??)
So … check your email 🙂
So this is all to say that I will be moving you over from my RSS feed (this is what you’re currently geting if you signed up to my follow my blog via email) to my newsletter list. You’ll get fewer emails from me that will be more relevant – and pretty :).
Here’s a picture of what to look for:
(Hopefully it will say your first name instead of “Test First Name” … I’m figuring this all out as I go here!)
Please check your other folders if you don’t see it in your inbox!
Unfortunately, this will probably go to your Spam or Promotions tab (if you’re using gmail). 🙁 Please look for this first newsletter from me and move it to your main inbox so that you can continue getting my newsletter emails. You can do this by clicking on the star next to the email address (if you’re using gmail – not sure if it works the same way for others?) or add my email address (sandra@realworldlearners.com) to your safe addresses list.
Let me know!
I will remove you from the original subscribers list (the one that you’re currently on) once I know that you’ve received the newsletter — that way you won’t continue to get both :).
Please reply to the email you get or to this post so that I’ll know you’ve made it to the new list and I can take you off the old one – you can just type “GOT IT!” and hit reply – no need to write me a whole letter :).
I’m sorry I made this a bit complicated by not just setting up a newsletter in the first place :(. I truly appreciate every one of you who has subscribed and I hope this switch works out well for you and that you enjoy the newsletter!
Have a great day!
Sandra
