Video 5: Teaching Tips: Division

Division is an extension of multiplication. For the 1-10 facts, you can reinforce division practice through games.

When you get into triple digit division, again it helps kids understand the process and develop critical thinking skills if they can first "see" the process of breaking down numbers into groups, then work gradually from there to the more abstract level of algorithms.

I've pulled in an excerpt from the complete course to demonstrate part of the long division strategy here. (This is much more advanced than most of the other strategies I've mentioned to this point.)
