Help your kids master their Math facts

Video 1: Laying a solid foundation in number sense using ten frames

Video 4: Teaching Tips: Multiplication

Apply ten frame strategies to an abacus / rekenrek to help kids see how multiplication works.

Using only their 1's and 2's facts, kids will learn how to multiply all the other numbers from 1-10.

If you can help them work slowly through this process and own their understanding as they go, they will become as fluent in the facts as if they had memorized them - but the value of critical thinking skills formed along the way and the deep understanding will go a long way towards helping kids succeed in higher levels of Math.
